17. Can a collection agency contact other people and discuss my bill?
Although a third party debt collector may contact others in an attempt to locate you, he or she may not discuss your account or debt status with a third party. He or she must give his or her name, but not the name of the collection agency unless they are specifically asked for it.(back to questions)
